VAT-compliant invoicing in the GCC, made boring
Sequential numbers, TRN on every invoice, correct tax lines — the unglamorous requirements that keep you out of trouble across the GCC. Here's how to get them right automatically.

Tax compliance is not where distributors want to spend their attention. But in the GCC, a sloppy invoice is a real liability: missing sequential numbers, a wrong tax rate, or an absent registration number can turn a routine audit into a painful one. The goal isn't to become a tax expert — it's to make correct invoices the default, so nobody has to think about it.
The three things every invoice needs
Across GCC jurisdictions the core requirements rhyme:
- A sequential invoice number with no gaps — proof that nothing was deleted or hidden.
- Your tax registration number (TRN) printed on every document.
- A correct tax line showing the rate and amount, separate from the net.
Miss any one of these and the invoice is technically non-compliant, even if the total is right.
Why sequential numbering is harder than it looks
Handing out numbers in order sounds trivial until you have five agents selling offline at the same time. Two vans can't both grab "invoice 1043." Set your tax profile once

Give customers a link, not just paper
